Reports indicated that a university has named Welty Building Co. and other companies in a lawsuit claiming that construction deficiencies and other faults have caused the university’s stadium to suffer serious structural issues. Among those issues are chunks of concrete falling out of secured railings and cracks also appearing on those railings.
Welty Building Co. indicated that it has worked with the university to address safety concerns and to ensure that those responsible for the issues are held accountable. The company believes that it is not liable for the problems because a separate contractor improperly installed the railings. Welty also is confident the lawsuit will show that the company fully complied with the contract with the university.
